Special Announcements

As our staff return from spring break and we get settled in to working remotely on Monday and Tuesday, please be patient as we finalize plans for remote learning. During this week, March 23-27, students can continue to work on their sent-home work packets or read during this week. Our teachers will be designing a remote learning schedule with lessons to support your child's learning beginning the week of March 30.

As a school, we will be using the Remind App for school-wide & teacher communication and learning. If you do not have it on your phone, please download the app. Your child's teacher will add you to the classroom Remind list. School-wide postings will also be posted on Facebook.

Your child's teacher will be calling you by phone on Monday,3/23 and Tuesday, 3/24 to check-in.  Your child’s teacher will be asking the following questions to ensure we are best able to meet your child’s educational needs and your communication needs:  1) your primary phone number for Remind App and Text messaging   2) technology available (phone, tablet or computer)   3) Pencils, Paper or Books available.

Mission Statement:

Great Happens Here...

Putnam Elementary School of Science exists to support and inspire every child to think, to learn, to care, and to prepare to be successful in a changing world.

Educate...Every Child, Every Day

Brief History:

Putnam Elementary School of Science opened in 1956 and is named after a long-term PSD custodian, A. H. Putnam, who gave 40 years of faithful service to the youth of Fort Collins.  The school colors are royal blue and white and the mascot is a panther.  Putnam’s curriculum incorporates a school-wide science focus in all subjects. Students use the scientific method and inquiry to develop critical thinking skills that prepare them for a lifetime of productivity and learning. Putnam’s motto is P.R.I.D.E. - Positive Attitude, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Empathy, and serves grades Pre-K-5.  Putnam was remodeled in 1999.
